Have you heard of kombucha? It is a fermented tea that is great for you. Although it is available pre-made in many health food stores across the country, it is an easy beverage to make. One just needs a little patience and knowledge.
We’ve made kombucha many times in the past. It becomes our “go to” drink when it is being fermented in our back closet. We were given the “scoby” which is the symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast. It looks like a lumpy glob of gelatin actually, but it contains microbes which produce antioxidants and probiotics, all great for your gut.
This image of the pear kombucha was a shot we did for volpifoods.com . The recipe using pear, cardamon and ginger, is on their site today.
